The Flamenco dress

Oh hi. Yeah.

Just a 1940s Flamenco dress.

Y'know. Another day in the life.

I found this beauty at an antique store this week, and fell in love with the wrinkly old cotton frock. I bought it without trying it on, the shape was a little lackluster on a hanger, but as soon as I put it on, I reeeeealy didn't want to take it off. But I ironed out the endless wrinkled ruffles, and then realized the base is just one big ruffled circle skirt, so I tried a petticoat. Then another. Then hey, why not? Another.

I pinned them to my girdle for that fishtail look, and it worked out pretty well!

I wore it to my mothers fabulous Italian party, and while Flamenco dance is Spanish, the colors match up with the Italian flag, sooooo, it works out alright.

I've always wanted a Flamenco dress, I remember watching a festival on tv when I was a little girl and being completely enchanted by the mountains of ruffles.

I'm just gonna go ahead and wear this all the time.
